I managed to get the books sidebar running today fairly quickly and easily, thanks to the amazing cleanliness of MTAmazon and BookQueueToo and the awesome support of Aster. It's still in just its first revision, but it gives me something to work with.
Now I just have to find the time to read some more, I suppose.

For some odd reason, the books sidebar content seems to be showing up only intermittently. Back to the debugging, I suppose ….
